GISBORNE POLICE COURT.

Gisborne, September 18. At the Police Court to-day, S. H. Eddoll was committed for trial on aseries of charges of not accounting for money received in connection with a butchery business. The Magistrate to-day dismissed the charge against a publican of refusing to admit a policeman without unnecessary delay. His Worship stated it wa clearly laid down that r.he prosecution must show that the constable had reasonable grounds to believe the Statute had been violated, or was being violated.
