GALE AT AUCKLAND.

Auckland, September 18. A heavy easterly gale is prevailing along the coast from Cape Maria Van Dieman to Tiritiri. The s.s. Manapouri Jarrived from Fiji this morning with a heavy list to starboard. The steamer met the gale and a terrific sea. The water ballast on one side ran out, giving the steamer a list. Heavy water was shipped forward, but no damage was done.
