(Per United Press Association. ) Christchurch, July 11. At the Addington live stock market to-day there were fairly large entries of stock in most departments, and a good attendance of buyers. Fat cattle sold well. Store sheep were in strong demand. Prime fat hoggets were hardly equal to the previous week's rates, and fat sheep were easier. Pigs of all classes met with a better sale, as did store cattle. Store sheep: Between 5000 and 6000 store sheep wore offered, and there was a ready sale for all claeses, especially for hoggets and wethers, and young breeding ewes. The principal sales were 374 four tooth ewes, 27s lid; 130 sound mouth, 20s 530 at 19s 6d ; 1180 two and foui tooth half bred wethers, 18s lOd tc 20s 2d; 300 two and four tooth wethers, !20s, 80 at 19s 7d; 74 em hoggets, 17s 2d; 1500 indifferent lots, 14s 6d to 16s Id ; 300 shorn at 13f 6d. Fat hoggets: There were"about 2200 fat hoggets penned, mostly lighi weights, and prime lots sold barely up to the previous weed's rates, the prices being 17s 6d to 21s; extra to 243 9d ; lighter, 14s 9d to 17s. Fat sheep: The yarding of fat sheep was about the same as last week in numbers, and there was again a good proportion of prime wethers. Prices at the opening of the sile were equal to those of last week, but as the export buyers were not operating values soon reached a lower level. Steers brought £6 5s to £11 15s ; heifers, £4 17s 6d to £8 15s ; and cows, £4 12s 6d to £9, equal to 21s to 24s for prime, and 16s to 20s for inferior to medium per 100 lbs. Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to 50s. Store and dairy cattle: There was a moderate entry of stores, but there were some useful lots yarded, and these met with a .fair sale, there being an improved enquiry. Fifteen to 18 mocths sold at 27s 6d to 52s 6d ; two-year old steers, £3 6s; 36 month, Bteers £4 ss; dry cows, 17s to £2 Bs. Dairy cows were rather dull of snle, at £4 to £7 5s for inferior to good? ancj up to £9 10s for a better class. Pigs: There was a large yarding of pigs, and an improved demand for all classes. Heavy baconers made 45s to 555; lighter 38s to 42s 6d, equal to 3 3 4d and 4d per lb ; porkers, 28s to 35s 6d ; lighter, 23s to 27s Gd, equal to 4}^d to 4%d per lb. Largestores fetched 20s to 28s; medium, 10s to 18s 6d : and weaners 5s to 9a.
