Dunedin, July il. i A public meeting was held tonight under the auspices of the Independent Political Labour League for the "purpose of placing bßfore the public th© aini3 and objects of the League and discussing the present political situation. The Hon. Mr Bolt presided, and the - attendance was about 45. The Chairman, while expressing approval of the "platform, thought; it would be well for tbe Labor Party not to take up an isolated position in politics, dut that it should have an alliance of some sort with the Democratic and more progressive minds of the Colony Messrs J. T. Paul and R.Fefgusson spoke in support of the Independent Labor Party, and Mr R. Breen dealt with the Employers' Association" action in connection with Mr Tregear's letter on Socialism. JNo resolution was passed in conection with the League, but it was resolved to protestfagainst the action of the Employers Association in its monstrous attempt to limit his rights as a citizen, and to bring discredit on him as a public official.
