NELSON LAND BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Nelson Land Board was attended by Commissioner Murray and Messrs Lynch, Wratt, Walker, and Sinclair. The applications made for occupations with right of purchase by P. Hunter, E. A. Funnv3ll, C. G. Stebbings, E. 11. Bromall, and H. B. I Bowron were granted, the three lat- | ter subject to survey regulations. The application of R. A. Simpson to exchange sections at Motuoka was refused. I P. Egaavs application for section at Kawatiri under M.D.L.O. Act | was granted, rent 6d per acre. j The application of R. McKenzie j for pastoral license over 1000 acres, Inangahua, was granted, subject to slight adjustment of boundaries. The application of A. Gibbs for occupation license over HO aores at Longford was granted, rent 25s per annum, and that of A. D. G. Gumming for a similar license over section 43, block iv, Inangahua, refused. A letter was received from the Under-Sceretary for Lands in reference to G. "Walker's occupation license over 2887 acres. Maruia Plains. It was resolved that that portion of Mr Walker's license containing the river bed fronting tho leases in perpetuity in tbe Burnett and Rahu survey districts held by Messrs A. and S. Mairs. E. E. Win, and J. W. Patterson, being areas extending from tho frontages of tho said, leases to the centre of the river, be determined on giving Mr Walker three months' notice, and that the said lessees have the right of applying within three months from date for occpuation licenses over the said areas repsectively fronting their leases. J. L. F. Rollet's application for Crown grant of section 20, block xiv, i Wangapeka, was granted, improvements required having been effected. S. A. Quinney, Tadmor, was : granted exemption of residence for three years in connection with sections at Tadmor. The report of tha Crown Lands Ranger on leases and licenses in the Waimea Couaty was received. The report showed 51 holdings inspected, area 11,490 acres; value of improvements required £2028, effected £2028; selectors in default— for improve- ■ ment 11, residence 0. It was resolved i that selectors in default be requested to show cause wty the conditions of lease have not been complied with. It was resolved to recommond that sections G and 17, blcck v, Kawatiri. be thrown open for selection under lease in perpetuity, price 15s an acre. Resolved to recommend that, the surveyor's fees payable on application for unsurveyed land under O.R.P. (referred to earlier in the report) be dispensed with under section 2 of the Land Act Amendment Act, 1593.
