Fat cattle were lower in price, espeoially cows. Fat lambs were firmer in consequence of the small yarding, and the fat ahe9p market was rather better for the same reason. There was a good demand.ifor store sheep, there'

being a riso in forward lambs. Pigs of nil clas-sea recovered in pric3, tho yarding being only a moderate one. ! There was only a moderate demand for storo cattlo, and a good enquiry for dairy oows. Store sheep: Thero were about 3soo store sheep offered, of which twothirds were lambs. There was a good sale ior all classes, lambs meeting with the most enquiry,and there I was an advance in the prices of , forward lots. The chief lines sold were— 67 two-tooth ewes, 17s 8d . 53 at 16s 6d ; 27 four-tooths?, 17s 3d ; 39 four and six-tooths, 10s 9d ; 158 aged 7s, and 41 at 9s 3d ; 68 four- tooth wethers, 16s lid ; 26 four and sistooths, 16s; 197 two-tooths, 15s 9d; 10;. at Us lOd ;120 at 10s 3d to 13s; 87 lambs, 13s 6d; 300 at 13s; 93 at 12s 6d ; 145 at 12s sd ; 140 at 12s 3d ; 73 at 12s 3d ; 82 at 12s 9d ; 198 at 10s lid ; 446( wethers), 10s 9d; 394 ( shorn ),los 7d ;164 at 10s ; 154 at 10s ;sma.ler lots, 7s 6d to 12s 6d. Pat lambs : There were only 1110 fat lambs penned, and the short supply resulted in an advance in prices, freezers selling at 13s 6d to 15s 9d, and one oxtra pen to 16s sd. A small line was bought by a grazier at 12s 9d. The sale was somewhat dragging, cows being especially difficult to dispose of, nnd prices all round were easier. Seven steers from Mr,B. tt'7 Rhodes' (Otahuna) made a£B 15s fco £9 10s ; and six steers from Mr George Humphreys' (Kaituna) £7 10s to £8 ss. Pigs : The yarding of pigs was a small one, and there being a good demand prices showed an improvement. Baconers sold at 35s to 455. , An extra line from Canterbury Agricultural College at 535, and another line from Mr Drummond 56s— equal to 3'Ud to 3"*_j*d per lb. Medium stores." 14s to 17s ; small.
