London, May 17. The "Daily Telegraph's" Kiaochau correspondent says that the report concerning the German occupation ; of Haichau( on the old course of the Yellow river, near Shanghai) is abaurd. The Dietrichson-Jebsen Company is running a line of steamers to Tsinghar and Haicbau, and'os the waters are unknown torpedoors are taking soundings. The occupation of Haichau isWicially denied in Berlin. Received May 18, 11.27 p.m. London, May IS. China has sent a warßhip to Haichau to enquire. It iB reported that Germany's previous application to occupy Haiehau as a convenient intermediate harborage between Tsingtau and Shanghai has been refused.
