FOOTBALL
A meeting of the Management Committee of the Nelson Rugby Union- was held at Mr Stallard's room last evening. Present: Messrs McCulloch (in the chair), Johnston, J. Hurley, F. Hurley, Carrington, Hall, McGee, Rogers, Hurst, Secretary and Treasurer. Minutes were confirmed and correspondence considered. It was resolved that the Nelson Club be allowed to withdraw from tho second junior championship. Resolved that nominations be invited for the seven-a-side tournament, same to close on |the 27th, programme to be left in hands of Secretary. It«was agreed to invite applications for providing afternoon tea for the occasion of the seven a-sido tournament.
It. was resolved to empower gatekeepers to refuse admittance to players unless they produce tickets.
The following reinstatements were made -.—Albion Club: A. Taylor, Both well, and Stanbridge to first junior. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
The referees for , to-morrow's 'matches have been appointed as follows :— Senior, Nelson v. Rival, Mr Chisholm; junior, Nelson v. Rival, Mr Batchelor; junior, Waimea v. JKiwaka, at Riwaka, at Riwaka, Mr Andrew. The following players will represent the Waimea Club against Riwaka to-morrow :— Coleman, Papps (2), Beat (2), Brock (2), O'Connor (2), Gudn, Mill, Rogers, Mcßao, Ford, and Kingsland.
