Christchurch. January 6. ' The Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union met to-day. A letter was received from the head ' office covering petitions in favor of ] granting the freehold to Crown tenants and requesting the Executive to distribute same among the branches in the province. The Executive considered it inadvisable to adopt this Course, and referred the petitions back to the head office.
