, T^e 5 monlhiy meeting of the abovenamed Board was held last night, there being present: Massrs Piper (chairman), Talbot, Fairer, Maemahon, Beuke, Everett and Fathers. Resolved, on the recommendation of Dr. Mackie, that a new operating table be procured fof the ■Hospital. It was stated that an up-to-date table would cost about £36. A case re payment of Hospital fees was left to the Chairman and Secretary to deal with. The report of the Relieving Officer at Motueka was It was resolved in one case to knock oil giving relief; in a second, to reduce the relief by ten shililngs per month; and in a .thitdf to notify a party that a boflie should be .found for a girl: A requisition for supplies to tne Hospital was agreed to; Aai The report of ihe Relieving Officer at Nelson was discussed. In the case of a - cotijple on the "t.erge. of starvation," it , was agreed to .-supply rations. In the mate ,of threfe children being boarded oiit.b'y their mother^ the Ghairtfan and Secretary were requested to make an investigathat the Motueka Relieving Officer be asked to report on a case brought before the. Board.., ■■** Tenders for supplying the Hospital and. Old People's Home were considered, and the following were accepted ■": — Bread, Mr Bozzleman. Groceries, Messrs Roughton and Co. Meat, Mr Francis Trask. Milk, Mr T York. Firewood, Mr Krahagen. Coal, Messrs Neale and Haddow (Westport coal.) Funerals, Mr Christian. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Jackson and Mr Savage for gifts of picturea for the Old Home; . ■ z Resolved to place -an -enlarged photograph of the late Mr Hinchliffe, with inscription, in the room at the Hospital, built oy means of Mr Hinchliffe's bequest. Resolved, that the Government be informedj that! there is no accommodation at the Hospital for the recep tion of inebriates. The Hospital return showed that there were the names of 62 patients thereon, 26 having been received during February, and 23 left, leaving 39 at theCend of that month. Of the 23, 17 had recovered, 4 relieved, 1 left unchanged, and 1 died. Februaryttwo cases of enteric, four of scarletl fever, and one of measles were admitted into the Hospital.
