Message from Mr Seddon.
. , Auckland, October 20. | Sir J. G. Ward has received the following cable from Mr Seddon :— " The statements I credited to the Hon McCallough, Victoria, and Mr Taylor, of New Zealand, that I endeavored unsuccessfully to float small = 1 loans in London, are fabrications, and un- J true ; also the rumor that I attempted to 1 float the New Zealand loan is incorrect. I never attempted or even suggested same, and the merest tyro in finance would see the absurdity of such a proceeding at such a time. I decided before leaving London that the date of placing the New Zealand 1 loan on the London market would be settled on my return to the colony. Financially, New Zealand stands high in the money market,"
