Mr. Seddon at Hobart.

Hobart, October 20. Mr [Seddon, Premier of New Zealand, arrived last night in the Tongariro, and leaves again this morning. Received October 20, 6.52 p.m. The ss. Tongariro, with Mr Seddon and party'on board, arrived at eleven on Sunday night, and anchored in mid-stream. The Premier, Mr Lewis, boarded the ship, and spent a couple of hours semi-officially in conversation withMr Seddon, who did not land owing to the steamer leaving at daylight. Mr Seddon, his wife, and daughters are in splendid health. Mrs Seddon, who was reported unwell before leaving London, picked up wonderfully during the trip. On being interviewed, Mr Seddon was unable to say much owing to calls on his time by reason of the very short stay. Of New Zealand affairs, he would wait till reaching home to reply to criticisms made upon his works and actions, but he emphatically remarked that his confidence in her was as great as ever. He made reference to his English tour as improving the relationship between the Mother Country and the self governing colonies, and tending to still further strengthen the stability of the Empire. The Tongari ro left shortly after* six, for Auckland.
