Alpine Extended Mine.
MINE MANAGEB'S EEPORT. [Bt Telegbaph.] [FBOM OtJB OWN COBBESPONDEST.] Ltbll, September 2. . The mine manager reports as follows:— ?he contractors for the extension of No. 9 svel north have driven a farther distance if 10ft, making the total length of extension !2ft. The reef continues sft in width, and here is no change in the quality of the itone. In the stopes at the back of No. 10 nain level the reef is from sft to 16ft in yidth, while the quality of the stone renains unchanged. The contractors for jinking the winze in the north end of No. L 0 level have completed a depth of 15ft. Fhe country is brooming soft, and the track of the reef should be met with in a tew feet of Binking. In No. 11 level the contractors have driven a further distance of Bft, making the total distance driven by contract 12Cft. A crosscut has been put into the west for a distance of lift, when a good foot wall was met, upon which a leader about 6in in width was lying. In the stopes at the back of this level the reei maintains its usual size, and there is no change in the quality of the stone. During the week 24G tons of stone have been sent to the battery.
