The Khalifa Fled.
Oario, September 4. The Khalifa, with his entire force, advanced three miles, and made a bold and determined attempt to envelope the flanks of the British forces, but was repulsed after one hour's hard fighting. Fighting was renewed when General Kitchener had advanced, and again the Khalifa was defeated, with very heavy loss. The Dervishes were completely dispersed. Omdurman was occupied by General Kitchener after a slight resistance by the enemy. The Khalifa has fled. The cavalry and the gunboats are pursuing the retreating Dervishes. port of Manila reopened, Washington, September 2. Vessels of all nations are now admitted to Manila.
