JUNIOR CUP.
The match between the Albion and Eival Juniors was, by the courtesy of the cricket authorities, played on the north ground at the Park, and resulted in a win far the Albions by nine points (three tries) to eight (two potted goals). The tries were obtained for the Albions by Goodman,' Carter, and J. Blincoe, and for the Rivals, King and Spear potted very prgtty goals. The Albions, owing to the superiority of their forwards, had the best of the game, which from start to finish was hard-fought. A great deal of interest was taken in the match, as the two teams engaged have had some stubborn contests this year, and the players of both sides had been training hard for the final game. By their victory the Albions gain the Jnnior Cup for the season, and for the sixth time since the inauguration of cup matches. Mr H. Sigley refereed. The Albion Clob were natatally jubilant at winning both Senior and Junior Cap from those who were sapposed to have a good mortgage over them, and much enthusiasm was shown amongst the members. W. Thompson {has of course been mainly responsible for bringing about the result of the Senior honor, and this fact cannot be questioned. He has trained th« te&m well and brought them out victorious in every game einae he has taken charge, and bis team have shown their confidence in him, and it has not been misplaced. This makes the second time the Albions have won the Cup, the first time being in 1890 when C. Bird made a sensational win by petting a goal. The Juniors have also scored a big suooess and their victory this year makes the sixth time the coveted honor has fallen to them. There is some talk of a protest in connection with the Junior Cup played on Saturday in connection of the Albion team having played a defaulter of the Albert club. On Saturday afternoon the members of the Prince Albert Club took a drive out to the Suburban North in a three-horse drag and dined &t the much favored hotel in that locality. A sumptuous repast was pro* vided by the Messrs Gallaghers, and the evening was spent in toasting and singing, and in other amusements. The visitors 'spent a pleasant evening in harmony together, and towards which the lady folk and Mr " Jimmy " Gallagher contributed largely. They returned home about eleven o'clock.
