RECORD REIGN CELEBRATION.
Melbourne, March 4. The Governor has received a despatch from Mr Chamberlain, Seoretary of State for the Gdlbniep; following tip the cabled invitation to, colonial statesmen to attend the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration*. Mr Chamberlain states that there will be additional satisfaction if the Premiers are aocompanied by their wives or Borne lady members of their families. In regard to the representation of tbe military forces it is pointed out that cavalry form a more imposing speolao c in a procession, but it ib Dot indispensable that tbe men sbould bring their own horses. These can be supplied in England wlthrut difficulty. The Jmperial Government will provide barrack accommodation for the men. The Qaeen will reoeive the Colonial Prottiiers and also witness the march past of the colonial troops. In conclusion the despatoh Btatea that should the invitation be accepted the Piemiers' presence in London will afford a .favourable opportunity for ths discussion oE miny subjects of the greatest interest to the Empire.
