NELSON FOOTBALL CLUB.
The annual meeting of this Club was beid j at the Commercial Hotel last evening, when t Mr Cresßwell waa vobed to tha ohair. , The minutes were rea3 and confirmed. ; Mr Milner, the Secretary, presented the . report aud balanoe sheet. Tbe latter , showed that the reaeipts amounted t) £34 . 19s 9d, and there is now a credit balance t f [ £11 lis. The essets were stated at £26 ; 183 6d, and the liabilities nil. Tbe Gbairman siid he bad hoped to have seen a larger credit balance, and he nrged tbe ', neoeesity of taking care of their fund, bo that tbey miwh; h -ye sufficient to send a team to conteet in other districts. He ooos dared ] a's d tbat the members thou'd note arrears j dne for subscriptions. On the motion of Mr N. Levien, seoonded by Mr Burford, the report and balance sbeet ' were adopted. ' About a dozen new members were eleoted. The election of officers resulted as follows : ' Mr G. A. Hirfcness was re-elected as Presi--1 dent ; Meiars TopliB?, Crtsiwell, T. Gla e gow, J. D. Thompson, W. N. Poole, J B Sadd, senior, and Dr Gibbs were elected as Vioe- \ Preiidents; Mr G. Harper, junior, as bon. Captain; Mr Milner as hon. Secretary and ', Tieasurer, Messrs N. Levien, Atmore, Rum' old, E. P. 1 L-avien, and J. John 3 were elected as the ' Management Committee. Messrs W. R Walker, W. N. Poole, Milner, J OresrWcll, and Levien wee eleoted ai Delegates to tbe Rugby Unioo. It was resolved to open the sea' on with a ' soratoh match on Saturday nex\ Ihe Chairman hoped that all the pa; ers would roll up. Be also said that be would ba glad to coach the Juniors if tbey would turn out in a body for practice at any time. ! It wes unanimously resolved that no refreshments ehall bs allowed out ol tbe Club'B funds. Mr A Levien stated that MeEsrs Levien, tailora, w.uli give a trophy to the be^t all round player of either Seniors or Junior-?, and the offer was accepted wi'h thanks. A
