PRESENTATION TO REV. E. P. CACHEMAILLE.
After their weekly practice the members of the All Saints Churoh choir assembled on Sept Gth, when, on tht ir behalf. Mr Lane made a presentation to the Bey E. P. CachemaMe. Mr Lane said tbat the members of tbe choir felt that they could not let Itor Caohemaille leave without their conveying to him an expression of their appreciation of his services, and wishing him God speed. Ho then read the following address, wbich he presented the reverend gentleman : — " Nelson, New Zoaland. " To the Rev. E. P. Caohemaille. " Tear Mr Cachemaille, — "As members of the Choir of All Saints' Church, we wiFh to express our appreciation of the kindness which, eluring all tbe time you have been in Nehon, we have invariably*recoived at your hands, and to thatk you mest heartily for the valued assistance which you, with your musical knowledge and ability, have been able to give us. It is also our desi.e to gratefully acknowledge the many considerate acts of kindness extended to us by Mrs Cachemaille and ihe members of your family. We can assure you that we shall long remember the pleasure we have derned in working under your guidance ; and we ask that you will accept the accompanying souvenir of what, we trust, have cot been unhappy relations from your standpoint." We are, dear Mr Caohemaille, Yours very faithfully. (Signtd by 25 members of Choir.) Mr Lane then presented Mr Cachemaille with a handsome study inkstand and clcck oornbined. The reverend gentleman, addressing those present as dear friends, said he was again taken by surprise, and could not cay half that he would like to cay. Tbey bad kept their seoiet remarkably well, but be felt tbeir kindness greatly. Be came amongst tbem a stronger from tbe Old Country, but the feeling of strangeness soon wore off. A choir was often oalled a Ihorn in tbe flesh, but their choir had not proved so. He had at once noticed the devotional manner of the members, and so long as they were actuated by a light &pirit all would be well. He hoped the frier) diy tii s beiween themselves and himself wi uid cot be altogether broken. For their exceedirgly kind expressions be thanked tbem .heartily, [and hoped tbey might meet again.
