CAMEBA CLUB.— LIME LIGHT VIEWS.
In connection with the Nelson Oamera Club, an exhibition of lime light views took place at tbe Provincial Hall on Sept 27, in tha presence of a large and appreciative audienoe. Mr C. Y. Fell, the President of the Club, undertook tbe task of lecturer, and he explaice i that by arrangement with other olubs an inter-change of transparencies bad been arranged for. The Nelson Camera Club had received from Eng'and a large nnmber of beautiful slides, depicting Derbyshire eoem ry, and also a large number of South Australia, which were also about to be Bhown prior to their being Bent on to other olubs. Thereupon some hundred and fifty interesting transparencies were Bbown. The Derbyshire views inoluded several piotures of Chat worth, and the scenes which brought to memory Sir Walter Scott's Pevere'l of the Peak, were naturally full of interest. The South Australian views were aleo viewed with great interest, but, co far as regards natural beauty spots, the reoent exhibition in conneotion with the Camera Club unquestionably proved that New Zealand musttake front rank, though the ancient edifices and magnifioent piles shown last night evoked not merely a patriotic feeling, but a'so a thorough appreciation of their beauty and their interest. The exhibition was e»ident ! y very greatly appreciated. Mr Fell in the oourse of his I remarks acknowledged their indebtedness to |Mr B. I Kingsley for tbe loan of bis fine ! lantern, and to Mr Moore for his able services in showing the piotureß. Tbose present .gave unmistakeable proof of tbeir appreoialof the more ai tis tio piotures.
