THE NELSON BOWING CLUB MINSTRELS.

The entertainment given at the Tbeatre Boyal on Sept. 25. by the Nelson Bowing Club Minstrels was an undoubted suooess, for the building wbs filled to overflowing, and the various items were reoeived with marked favor. In li-u bf the formal chairs an effeotive plantation scene was presented, wherein the darkies were joined by rowing men. Mr Hall, bs interlocutor, and Tambo aod Bones were all very successful, and tbeir jokes created much mirth. Mr Martin's orchestra called forth very demonstrative expressions of approval, for in the Overture, and also in other contributions, the Orohe&tra did exceptionally well. The opening solo with chorus, " Meet me at the Golden Gate," was rendered by Mr N. Levien and oompany, after which Mr D. Jackson saog, " The Laßt Sweet Words of Mother," and Tambo likewise soored with "Up Dar in de Sky." Mr G. Langley secured an encore for his song and dance "Tha Little Blaok Coon," followed by the Sailor's Hornpipe, and Mr D. Corrigan received rounds of applause for his rendering of the song •« The Cottage with the Roses at the Door," in which be was accompanied on the banjo by Mr MoCabe. A song by Bone s, (> Go and tell Maria," was extremely well reoeived, and then Mr D. Jackson sang " Come where my love lies dreaming," aLd received a demonstrative encore. Bones scored again in " Put on de golden sword,'' and the finale of the " House Afire " created screams of laughter. In the seoond part Mr Hobbs sang a oomio s - ng and was reoollpd and Mrs n <'i<'c-:haw ana L^lcy t ..ck part in a clog danoe, acquitting themselves bo successfully that they had to give a repetition. Mr H. McJabe's banjo solo was.eoeived with muoh favor, and the tug-of-wat evoked roars of laughter. Mr Oldershaw s comic 6ong, with banjo acoompaniment, whioh succeeded, was perhaps tbe mosb clever performance of tbe evening, in that line. The entertainment concluded with a laughable sketih ent-tl d " The Baby Elephant," in which M°ssrs F. W. Hamilton, N. Levien, 0. Bedworth, F. 0. Hamilton, E. Levien, at-d D. Jackson appeared, and every performer did admirably. All connected with tbe enter tainment are to be complimented on the Bucoess achieved.
