Living Rate of Wage.
Wellington, Bept ember 27. A deputation of the Tradeß and Labor Council of the Typographical Aseooiation waited upoa the Premier to-day, asking that the Government advertising should not be given to oon-Union offices in the foor centres. The depatatioo specially alluded to two offices, in which tbey oomplained mainly of boy and girl labor. The Premier, in reply-* ing, Baid be believed in the living rate of wage, and would not encourage sweating in any form. This was the principle the Government had adopted in OD-operative work and letting contracts, and, as far as possible, only those papers that complied with trade regulations, and paid the living wage, would receive the Government support.
