At a publio meeting held to discuss tbe New Lioensingßill, resolutions were passed to the effect that pablio hansea should be olosed on election day; tbat licenses be not transferred from one site to another ; that the cumulative vote be retained ; that proper supervision of hotels be provided; that children under sixteen years youis bo not supplied with liquor ; tbat if prohibition be carried, liquor i 9 not to be sold in New Zealand waters ; that no Jioenaa be granted unless three fifths of the residents in the locality sign the petition in favor of it ; that where rednotion is carried, the minimum ehall not be leas than 25 per cent instead of 5 per cent as proposed ia the Bill. •
