The * Herald,' commenting on the Australasian quarterly banking returns, says tbat never before have the Colonies had so large a percentage of coin and buili n to liability as at present, namely, 4.10.2 in tbe £, while the advances generally bave shrunk. New Zealand and Western Australia alone Bhow a email increase.
