PRINCE ALBERT FOOTBALL CLUB.

The annual meeting of this Club was held at the Panama Hotel on April 29th, when there was a fair attendance present. Mr E. Finney oooupied tbe chair during the former part ol the meeting, and Mr F. Trask during the latter. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed, and the Secretary submitted a report bearing upon the past season. The report was not altogether a favorable one, and stated thai the members of the Club had not taken as much interest in it as might have been wished. The Senior team had played 6 matohes, won 2, lost 2, drawn 2, had 16 points eoored by them and 18 against. The Juniors did very well, being the runners up for the Junior Gap. They also played 6 matches, winning 3, losing 2, whilst I was drawn. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £6 6s 3d, but there were still a number of outstanding subscriptions, which would make this balance considerably larger. A ball held in connection with the Olub had proved a great success, and thanks weie acoorded to Mrs Jiokell and Mrs Stallard, Misses Trask, Stallard (2), Hall, King, Laing and others for valuable assistance rendered. The report urged members to work with renewed vigor, to attend to practices, and be punotual at matohes. It was regietted that several protnirent players had signified their intention of giving the game best, acd it was hoped they would BtiU continue on the active list. The report and balance sheet were unanimously adopted. The election of officer! resnlted as follows : President, Mr F. Traßk (re-elected) ; VicePresidents, Messrs E. Finney, S. Jickell, H. Baigent, S. Kirkpatriok, Jas. Hamilton (reelected), and B. H. Moiler ; Hon Captain, Mr | G. Simpson (re-eleoted) ; Hon Treasurer, Mr J. F. Kitohing (re-elected) ; Hon Secretary, Mr H. Hall ; Delegates to Bugby Union, Messrs R. Stiles, G. Bimpaen, Or. Hogg, H. Nalder, and T. Hall. Five new members were elected. On the motion of Mr Simpson, it was resolved to suggest to the Nelson Bugby Union the advisability of playing Marlboroogh on alternate seasons only, and not two matohes in one Beason as at present. It waa unanimously resolved to apply to the Rugby Union for the removal of the suspension placed last year upon C. Nesbitt. It wai also resolved that the Seoretary be instructed to communicate with tbe teams on the West Coast, and ccc what inducement they will offer to a team visiting them. Mr Tr*sk then presented T. Hall with a handsome silver oup presented by him (or the best all round back player in tbe senior team last season, and in doing so eulogised the manner in which the games bad been carried ont. He had no doubt that the Committee who had decided that the trophy should be Mr Hall's had acted wisely and well. Similar remarks were expressed to H. P. Clear, who secured a cup for the best all round forward. The awards were greeted with applause. Mr Bimpson said that before the netting closed he should like to say a few words with reference to Mr Stiles, whose resignation was ieoeived. He bad been ooe of the original members ol tbe Olub, and during that time Mr Stiles had done a great deal for football, not only for hia Olub, but for football generally, and his Olab would feel a treat loss at his resignation. Mr Simpson Baid he personally had played continually with the exception of one Beason since the inauguration of the Ciub. The members had been hardworking till this last year or two, and il tbey were in good condition they oonld do as well as formerly. He hoped the members would turn up to praotioe, and if he could be of servioe to them he would only be too glad. He had Been football playei in Sjdney against Queensland, and he had learnt something. He then referred to Mr Stiles' sad bereavement, and said that tbe Club had already expressed their sympathy with him, and regretted that he should feel compelled to resign the offioc. He then Bpoke in most eulogistic terms of Mr Stiles' services. Mr Traßk endorsed the rerxarfcs mafle by Mr Simpson. He had never met a more courteous man than Mr Stiles, in faot he oould not tefuee any request rrade by M Stiles. Mr Stiles said he was not a speech maker, bat be heartily thanked the members for their sympathy. He would BtiU continue to take tbe same interest in tha Club as be alt ways had done.

Tbe Chairman, in putting the resolution to ! the mee'ing, said it waa not necessary for ' him to say anj thing. Mr Stiles had been : with him an a boy, and bis presence tbat ni;;ht showed the respect, that he held him in, ' Messrs Trask, Finney, and Jicke'l stated i ther intention of trophies for the coming Benson, the two latter being for the Juniors end the former for the Seniors. ; It waß resolved to opsn tbe season on SatcHay next with a matoh with the Nelson Club.
