ATHLETICS V. UNITED. The United team suffered a defeat on Saturday, being unable to make any stand against the Athletic bowling. The latter team in their first innings shaped well for three or four wickets, but the rest met with a speedy downfall. Harper's play, and also Gorder's in the first innings, waa much admired. The Athletics had a second innings, in which Stiles made 31, including some very clean hits to the boundary. Subjoined are the scores : — Athletics.
