The funeral c-E the late Miss Savage, o! Wai-iti, on Sunday afternoon wa3 very largely attended. Deceased who was oat down in her early womanhood by consumption, was a general favourite, and when the funeral cortege left her mother's residence for tbe Wakefield Cemetery, there were some 15 conveyances, 14 horsemen, and 40 Good Templars (in regalia, and on foot) in the procession. Deceased was a member of the Hope of Wakefield Lodge, and so greatly was aha esteemed as a Good Templar, that 11 members from the Loyal Nelson and Loyal Marine Lodges proceeded from the City to pay, with the Hopa of Wakefield Lodga members, their last tribute of respect to their departed Sijter. At the Church and the grave the E-.v 0. W Jennings read tho beautiful Burial Service of the Church of England, at the close of which the Good Templars formed a circle round the grave, when the impressive Burial Service of tho Order was read, Bro. Simpson (Distriat Deputy), Sister Duncan, and Bro. Bond taking part therein. The funeral was one of the largest seen at Wakefield for some tiino past, and the sympathy for tho bereaved mothor and friends is general.
