The reason given for the change was, that on Saturday the banks, & offices, and merohants are closed by one i o'olook, whereas on Wednesday they would r have all day to transact their business.. I was amused at Nelsonian'a letter, who is 9 evidently not in favor of the holiday. He statedvthe topic of conversation in the train i on Saturday morning waa the inoonvenient day that Saturday was for the halfcholiday. 3 I wish Nelsouian had been in the two o'olook b train, he would have heard quite the reverse. The passengers were loud in their praise to tcosa who had decided to close their eatabli ihoaenta on Saturday afternoon, and stated they considered it their duty to support the movement.
