RICHMOND TOWN BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Richmond Town Board was held on Tuesday 14th inst, at 7.30 p.m. Present: Messrs Harkness, Best, Talbot, Moles wortb, Moßae and Croucher. The proceedings of the Returning Officer at the recent election of Commissioners were read. Mr Harkness was unanimously re-eleoted Chaiitnan ; Mr Talbot, Treasurer ; and Messrs Crouoher and Best, Works Committee. The miuntes of last ordinary, and of special meeting were read and confirmed. Mr Orouoher reported that the Reservoir Sub-Committee wera proceeding with repairs, in accordance with the recommendations contained in Mr JickelPs repoit. Some discussion took place respecting the very heavy ohsrge made by the Waimea County Coancil for collection of license fees, and it was resolved that a protest against same be forwarded to the Gounoil. A communication from the Stoke Road Board with reference to the appointment of a Ranger in conjunction with the Road Beard and the County Council was considered, and ; it was resjlved that an alteration be made in the existing arrangement. A letter was read requesting that the Board take into consideration the desirability oi i erecting a horse water trough, and the matter was referred to the Works Committee to report as to cost and site at next meeting. The Works Committee reported that a . wheelbarrow was needed, and were authorised I to provide same. , The Works Committee report >d that Jon i lifting the culvert in Church street it wa3 found that most of the bricks were unfit for further use, and that they had therefore ■ substituted 12-inch glazed pipes in relaying > the culvert. It was resolved that the action of the oommittee be approved. i It was resolved that the stage : at the i reservoir be removed, being no longer needed, 1 and that the materials, so far as available, be ' used in present repairs. i The following accounts were passed for payment: — General, #14 Us 9d; watst ' supply, 13s ; waterworks interest, £75.
