At the meeting of the Colonial Sngar Company it was stated that the question of the stoppage of black labor in Queensland had been oaref ully considered, with the result that it was found the sugar industry could not ba oarried on is the tropics without Kanaka labor. The Company had arranged for testa to be made in a suitable district in Fiji with a view to removing the Queensland mills there.
