Wellington, Wednesday, 710 p.m. Napier telegrams this day report that the Hauhaus are still at Poverty Eay. Three more murders are supposed to have been committed, but the bodies have not yet been found. Colonel Wliitmore's force lias returned to Wanganui. Mr. Richmond's telegrams to the Government have been published, but are very generally thought to be indiscreet; acknowledging errors and mistakes made in removing men from Wanganni. Mrs. Wilson and child have reached Napier. The Charybdis reports that the alarm in Wanganui has been very much exaggerated. Captain Lyons has visited the Front. Wellington, Thursday, 757. p.m. Napier telegrams state that Mrs. Wilson is supposed to be dying. The WeUinr/tor. Independent of this morning contains a letter from Mr. Fitzgerald, extending to four columns, against the employment of English regular troops. Public opinion on the subject appears to bo » nearly evenly divided. Further reinforcements of constabulary have arrived to-day. A New Zealand Distillery Company was inaugurated in Wellington last night. The Directors of the New Zealand Steam Navigation Company have convened a meeting for the 29th of December to decide on the windins-up question. There arc no later telegrams of importance.
