THE TWO CANDIDATE.
To the Editor of The Colonist. Sir, —"Far offfowls have finefeathers," —that's Mr. Sheplinrd; but how does ho "run it" in his am eountree ? " Money makes the mare to go,"—that's Mr. Edwards, who at proscnfc is a dark horse, nobody knows his politics. Talking of horses, the poor public donkey ought to prick up his ears and kick up Iris heels with vigor to oppose any more burdens being added to the load under which he is now stiirrgering. Mr. Shuphard religiously opposes " filthy lucre," •so far as he can, and very proper too. What does Mr. Edwards think of the Income Tax ? He has got the Income, but doea he like the Tax ? Mr. Shephard lias his own opinions on these points also, I'll be bound. Mr. Shophard was not very clear on the subject of how far he would support Mr. Stafford's policy; and I, for one, think that Mr. Edwards lias a good deal to explain on that subject; and there must be no paltering with us in a double sense, no arrierc pensee. I am, &c, Speak Out. EMfahMmaMfdaMMSai l|ll||||l H ■HMHHHIIHI ll.J*llJHimiU.fai.Vre]mtfnninMJ«""flyst
