ELECTION OF A GOVERNOR OF NELSON COLLEGE.
YISTEBDAY, was the day appointedfort he election of a gentleman to fill the vacancy in the Council of Governors caused by the resignation of Mr. Charles Elliott. At twelve o'clock, Mr. Poynter, the Returning Officer under the Trust Funds Act, intimated to the half-dozen electors present the purpose of the meeting, upon which Mr. Webb in a few words proposed Dr. Cusack, whose qualifications as a gentleman Ofliberal education the proposer briefly referred to. The motion was seconded by Mr. B-. Burn, and there being no other candidate, the. Beturning Officer declared Dr. Cusack duly elected. The business did pot occupy more than three minutes.
