The Bank of England reduced the rate of discount from 9 to 8 per cent, on the 10th November ; on the 23rd it was lowered to 7 per cent. In the open market good bills are discounted at 6| to 6f-.

The Bank of France has reduced its rate of discount from 7to 6 per cent. No further reduction is anticipated for some time. Consols for money, 91i to 91j; do., for account, 89J- to 89f^-
