ALARMING FIRE IN DUNEDIN.
About two o'clock this morning, February 4th, a most alarming fire broke out in the premises of Messrs. Butement, aerated water manufacturers. The street was soon full of people hurrying towards the spot where a tremendous volume of smoke and flames was to be seen. The members of the Fire Brigade and a detachment of the 70th regiment under Major Ryan, soon got the the flames under, which were prevented from spreading by pulling down the surrounding premises. The total loss » estimated at £1500. The greater part of the property waß uninsured.
