ItlktlllMMl "p¥rmanent BUILDING SOCIETY A OF NELSON. ®ruat«es; H. C. Daniell, C. Elliott, and J. Shakp, Esqks. ©Steers: Bankers —Bank op New Zealand. Solicitor —Mr. H. Adams. Secretary— Mr. Wm. Rout, pro tern. (Committee lo be chosen the first meeting of members.) The success which has attended tho Nelson Building Societies Nos. 1 and 2, and the difficulty of more persons availing themselves of the advantages of these societies, on account, of tho large arrears to bo paid, and the amount of entrance fee required as an equivalent for the profits accumulated, connected with tho great desire that a third society should be established, in which members should date their payments from the time they enter, and thus avoid the difficultiej of largo arrears aud entrance fees—these, and other considerations, have induced the formation of the Permanent Building Society of Nelson, in which these improvements are safely engrafted upon the sound principles on which tho other societies are based. This society is established on a permanent basis, so that, at whatever timo after its commencement a person enters, that, to him individually, will be the commencement of the society. Any person, male or female, juvonilo or adult, is eligible to be a member, and distance of residence will not affect membership. Country members, after Ist of next month, can send Post Office Orders. To parties who feel disposed to join for an investment only, this society affords peculiar advantages, with undeniable security, their capital being invested, in Freehold Land and Buildings producing compound interest, and profits arising from tho sale of shares, fines, &c, thus preventing the cares and vicissitudes of business, or the application of their own personal exertions. Shares may be withdrawn at any time after three months from the date of the member's admission, with five per cent interesj on the paid-up capital; but in case of death or insanity they can be withdrawn (by giving two months' notice) with the whole of the profits carried to the credit of the member, subject to the deduction of 2s 6d per share for the management fund. The shares will be sold by auction to those members who offer the highest premium for priority of advance, but no shares will bo sold under £5 per centum of the value of the sharo: this plan affords tho greatest amount of benefit with the least attendant evil. Money will be advanced during tho interval between each monthly meeting by the member paying an advance of 25 per cent upon tho highest premium of the prior monthly pay-night. Proporty mortgaged to the society may be sold, redeemed, or exchanged, subject to tho rules and regulations of the society. Members paying their subscriptions in advance will bo entitled to a discount, at the rate of 2s in the pound per annum for a period of not less than six months. The rules aro framed with a strict adaptation to the wants of the industrious classes, and as large an amount of cash will be advanced to tho purchasers as is consistent with the just interest of the investors. Shares £20 each, monthly payments 3s. Entranco fee, for first share 2s Gd, including pass book and copy of rules, and for each additional sharo, le. Interest on realised shares, 10 per cent per annum. Shares to be realised by auction—upset price of each £20 share, £1. Members may withdraw their shares with interest at 5 per cent per annum. " It is estimated that the shares will be paid in full at the end of five years, thus getting £20 for each £9 of subscription, or nearly £125 per cent. Tho profits of tho society will be carried to the credit of tho shareholders every six months. Applications for shares will be received by the Secretary, on payment of the Entranco Fees, at his residence, Waimea-street. 999 |JNION BANK OF AUSTRALIA. Paid up Capital .... £1,000,000 sterling.
