VOLUNTEERS FOR TARANAKI.

To the Editor of the Colonist. Sir,—-I gee by the papers that Volunteers in Australia have nobly intimated their willingness to assist in putting down the rebellion in the North Island. Surely the Nelson Volunteers will not be behindhand in offering themselves for active service at Taranaki! Let it never be said that we who are brother colonists were content to cut capers, and sport a livery in Brook-stieet Valley, while others are volunteering to come twelve hundred miles to sustain British credit. Let us then immediately take steps to inform the Governor that we are both ready and willing to go and assist our fellow-colonists. Yours &c, A VOLUNTEER.
