BOARD OF WORKS-PUBLIC MEETING. 2o the Editor of the Colonist. Sir—ln your report of the meeting of the ratepayers held on Wednesday last, August Bth, you have forgotton to state that the first resolution was passed. Now, as such was the case, and that by a large majority, you will much oblige by correcting the omission; for as the report now reads, the second resolution appears to be the only one assented to by the meeting. \I am, &c, One who Voted for Both Resolutions. [We are obliged to our correspondent for pointing out the omission in our report. One leaf of the copy of the report was inadvertently left out. The following is the omitted portion, and should have followed immediately after the line—in the second column of our report—' (Cries of put the resolution)':— Mr. Black : I am not in the habit of addressing public meetings; they are generally very uproarious here, but I must say this is the most rabid meeting ever I attended in my life. I think, Mr, Chairman, you would show your good sense by at once leaving the chair. The Chairman then put the amendment, when Mr. Lewthwaite's was the only hand held up in favor of it. It was therefore declared to be lost. The resolution was then put and carried by a large majority.]
