AUSTRIAN OFFICERS IN FRANCE.
For several days past, the Austrian officers have gone through Lyons to the cities which they have chosen for their residence. These officers speak highly ofthe reception which they have had in France. Many of them express themselves fe very correct French, -and have answered with great readiness to "questions whioh have been addressed to them. If their national self-love will not permit them to acknowledge the superiority of our army, they confess "fit return that our soldiers are on the field of battle veritable lions, and that their courage is above all praise. These officers are allowed tin dur railroads the reduction of fares accorded to French •officers, and, further, at Paris, which •was formerly forbidden to prisoners of war, is permitted to them.. The superior officers, of whom a great number belong to rich and noble families, have 'determined to profit by this favor in choosing for their domicile the capital of France. Each Austrian oi&cei** tin landing at -Toulon or at Marseilles, fixes cm the city which he would choose for residence, and signs a parole of honor not to quit without being authorised, tinder pain of losing the benefits which are ac« "accorded to him as an officer, and of beings treated as a common soldier.— LeSer&mphore, \ _.otb June. y!
