Boys: Frank Horley 1, Fred Johnson 2. GARDENING CIRCLE SPRING FLOWER DISPLAY The Ngahinepouri Gardening Circle held its spring flower display in the local hall on Wednesday, when there was a very good showing of blooms, with the decorative section showing artistry and originality. Members of the Lyceum Club and the National Club Gardening Circles were present, as well as a party from W'hatawhata, and the leader, Mrs B. C. Hendrick, extended a welcome to these visitors when she introduced the speaker for the afternoon, Mr E. V. Skaarup, of the Auckland Department of Agriculture. Mr Skaarup spoke on the growing and propagation of hydrangeas, and followed, this with a most entertaining talk on horticulture in Denmark. After the serving of afternoon tea, during which there was an informal discussion on plants and gardening, Mr Skaarup answered many questions. The speaker was thanked by Mrs Hendrick and Mrs C. Armstrong, president of the Waikato Lyceum Club. A stall for the sale of plants and cuttings was very well patronised.
