SCHOOL CALF SHOW

YEARLING COMPETITION CHAMPIONSHIP CUP A combined Calf Club meeting was held at Oparau School, when the main items on the agenda were date of show and yearling class, the balance of show being on same lines as last year. The date was set down for early in December at Kawhia School . In the yearling class any calf shown last year in a local show will be eligible, provided it is prepared by the child who entered the same animal last year, even though he or she may have left school. The yearlings may be prepared in any way the exhibitor wishes, no restrictions being imposed. Yearlings will be judged as at agricultural shows, and may be led by an adult. During the evening Mr A. Bronlund offered to donate a cup for champion of champions calf, to be competed for at 1949 show. This gesture was accepted with grateful appreciation by the delegates.
