Ewe Aged Nineteen Years
A Romney crossbred ewe in the Gore district has attained the age of 19 years, which is believed to be a world record. According to the owner, the ewe is “still going strong, which speaks well for chaff and oat feeding”. It had lambs for 14 years in succession and was shorn every year.
