Urban Farm Land List
Five objections to the Urban Farm Land List as prepared by the Te Awamutu Borough Council were before Monday night’s meeting of that body. It was stated that none of the objections were against the special rateable values, but the objectors based their objections to non inclusion in the list. It was decided to defer consideration until the next meeting of the Council.
Downes Street A resident of Downes Street in a letter that was before Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council that consideration be given to the supply of a footpath and drainage in that street. The writer stressed the urgent need for those amenities as the street was in wet weather subject to flooding. On the motion of Crs Babbage and Shepherd the request was referred to the Works Committee. It was stated that the estimates contained provision for the work to be done.
Additions To Workshop An application for a permit to erect additions to a workshop at the rear of Security Buildings in Arawata St. was before Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council. The applicant who submitted plans said that the additions would be made in brick on concrete blocks. The Mayor said that the plans complied with the -Borough Building by-law’s, but he pointed out that it was at the rear of ladings” ard might interfere with a'eeees, to existing premises.
