Truck for Waikato Hospital
The Minister of Customs (Mr W. Nash) advised in a letter to the Waikato Hospital Board at its meeting on Monday, that ambulances were exempt from sales tax, but that there was no means by which th? sales tax on commercial vehicles for the Board’s use could be remitted. The letter was received and the Hon. Minister’s remarks noted, while the Board’s members were divided on the worth of making any further attempts for exemption. Price of Milk and Cream In a letter from the Milk Marketing Division, the Waikato Hospital Board was advised at its meeting on Monday, that the price of milk and cream supplied to hospitals under the board’s control will be increased to the equivalent of normal wholesale prices set out in the Price Order, as from September Ist, 1949. The Board recently wrote to the Division objecting to any increase in the price of milk and cream supplied to the Waikato and Rotorua Hospitals.
