Mr and Mrs H. J. McDonald and family, of Hawera, have taken up residence in Te Awamutu. Mr and Mrs J. Kemp, of Tokanui, have left for Levin where they will attend the marriage of their son Wilfred. Miss Elva Deed, of Mangapiko Street and Mrs Long, also of Te Awamutu were guests at the GrayburnWinch wedding. Members of St John’s Indoor Bowling Club stood in silence at last night’s meeting as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mr G. Bridge, who was a member of the committee. Mr H. Gladstone Hill, well known in musical circles in New Zealand, paid a brief visit to Te Awamutu yesterday. Mr Hill was on his way to Auckland, where he will attend the contests for the Dominion bands’ championships. Mr A. E. Bryant left for Wellington last night, where he will attend the Dominion Council meeting and the meat and wool section of Federated Farmers of New Zealand as a representative of the Auckland body of that organisation. Mr Wl. Errington Keville, C B.E V director of the National Bank of New Zealand and general manager in London of the Shaw, Savill, Albion Company, was a visitor to Te Awamutu on Monday. Mr Keville, who is on a motor tour of New Zealand, called on Mr W. Hannah, manager of the National Bank in Te Awamutu.
