Luffness Hospital

Because the owner of the Luffness Hospital property in Te Awamutu would not agree to paths at the Hospital being constructed of concrete, the Waikato Hospital Board, at its meeting on Monday, resolved that sand pathways should be provided in accordance with a plan submitted by the architect (Mr A. Smith). Mr A. E. Bryant, Te Awamutu member of the board, said that he thought sand or metal chips would be satisfactory. It was necessary that something be done about the matter.. The provision of a number of other facilities at the Hospital was also detailed by the architect, who was given authority to proceed with the work. The new lessee (Miss W. Gasson) advised the board that she had arrived in Te Awamutu to take over Luffness Hospital.
