FINES IMPOSED
CONDITION OF MOTOR VEHICLE CASE HEARD IN TE AWAMUTU YESTERDAY Colin Tuck was charged in the Te Awamutu Court yesterday, before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M. with, firstly, operating a motor vehicle that was in such mechanical condition as to be liable to cause injury to any person; and, secondly, did operate a trade motor in George Street when it was not equipped with two independent brakes. Tuck, in a letter, described the tests to which the vehicle had been subjected, and he alleged that the brakes should not be expected to do something not intended by the makers. i Traffic Inspector Norris gave evidence as to making tests on the brakes and their distance reaction. Defendant was convicted and fined £2 on each charge, and ordered to pay 10s Court costs on each charge.
