Liberation of Pheasants

The first liberation of pheasants this season will be made during the week-end, when the Te Awamutu branch of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society will liberate 72 birds.

Support For Remit The Hamilton City Council, at its meeting on Wednesday night decided to support the remit to be placed before the Municipal Conference to be held at Napier this month by the Te Awamutu Borough Council relative to the collection of hospital levies. The purpose of the remit is to allow local authorities which rate on unimproved or annual values to rate on capital value if the local body should so desire. “I think that this is an excellent move,” said the mayor, Mr H. D. Caro. If it was adopted it would help considerably in the future.
