Music Examinations
At the recent examinations in the theory of music, held at Hamilton, the following- pupils of Miss Diana Wall, Te Awamutu, passed with honours:— Preparatory, Rons Butterworth, Evelyn Lowry; First • Stage, Shirley < Holmes, Leone Jacobsen, Norma Kite, Neville Morris, Evelyn Payne and Barbara Ramsay. Diminutive North Island
Enlightment came to a delegate to the Pacific Science Congress, but the ego of a New Zealander was considerably deflated when he was asked to explain a map of Auckland City over which the other was engrossed.'“This, 1 take it,” said* the delegate, “is the South Island. And this part here, just showing above the water, is the North.” The “North Island” was Devonport.
