RADIO PERSONALITY
MR JACQUES HOPKINS VISITOR FROM BRITAIN Visitirfg Te Awamutu this week. Mr Hopkins will give one of his popular sessions of Gospel hymns, and story, in the Baptist Church. A former opera and concert figure in Europe, he was the first Englishman to gain the highest award of the Paris National Conservatoire of Music (The Grand Prix), and has for many years devoted his talents to Gospel singing. Under the auspices of the 8.8. C., listeners numbered up to 4,000,000, and his sessions of hymns and their stories became so popular that he received some 5000 personal letters from listeners.
The type of meeting Mr Hopkins conducts is a new presentation of the Gospel Story in challenging message, and inspirational solo singing. Wherever he has gone, his meetings have been attended by large crowds, and with growing interest. The two sessions in this town will be open to everybody.
