AMATEUR ATHLETICS
ANNUAL MEETING OF TE AWAMUTU CLUB OFFICERS ELECTED The annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club (Inc.) was held on Thursday, September 30th, in the Savoy Tea Rooms. Mr North presided over a large attendance of members and visitors. The balance sheet which showed the club to be in a sound position, was presented by Mr L. McAlpine and adopted. The election of officers for the coming year resulted:— Patron: Dr Roberton (re-elected); president: Mr R. North; vice-presi-dents: Messrs E. Furey, E. H. Cucksey, A. G. Freeman, W. Pearson, and A. Hughes; secretary: Mrs J. Adams (re-elected); treasurer: Mr L. McAlpine; committee: Messrs W. Donovan, McLeish, Pattison, Somerville, Redgate, Baird, and Adams; delegates to Athletic Centre: Messrs North and Adams; delegates to Cycle Centre: Mrs Adams and Mr HughesAt the conclusion of the meeting supper was served by Mr Kovacevich. Mr Adams moved a vote of thanks to Mr Kovacevich for this gesture.
